vote the white-half

I don't always agree with Whitlock's articles but always enjoy them. The heat he probably took for his piece on Titan's quarterback Young, if you read it with an open mind, was not popular but well reasoned.
To find that he hasn't voted and then read, in his entertaining way, the dissection of the Palin candidacy has been one of the better pieces written on her and why we should be scared. I feel he kept the gloves on (it would be nice to read some of his earlier drafts) but still hit hard.
The Jackie Robinson reference was perfect, and a must read is a biography on Robinson by Arnold Rampersad.
Like one black comedian has said...for all those reluctant whites to vote for Obama, when you go in the booth just vote for Obama's white-half.

dumbos wornout welcome

ABSOLUTELY...from the very first debate for the Republican ticket it was obvious that Dubya did not have the complexity necessary and that it was in fact his game plan "I'm not the smartest guy on the block" an actual quote I'll never forget...and it was amazing to watch him not only win the nomination but then the Presidency and then the unbeliveable reelection.
McCain took that play and went with Palin and it is his shame to bear.
This is not some reality show that people will cheer an average Joe or Jane to the highest chair in the land. Or is it.

Hit back--you're not that far ahead

Obama ended his debate with the "I will work tirelessly...on your behalf" comment--I thought it was a powerful distinction between the two as McCain has seemed worn out by the campaign.
However, I am still uneasy even with the polls showing Obama ahead and didn't know why Obama never said the word, "deregulation." He should have taken the gloves off on McCain's record and philosophy with everyone so "angry" at the economic collapse.
Then when McCain brought up Ayers I thought it would be fair game to bring up the Keating 5. How has McCain even had a career after that episode? How has this not been brought up especially in light of all the "greed" on Wall St. exhibited again?
I think the old man still registered with his base and I'll only feel better on election night when the race has been called--hopefully.
